The right-handed batsman reached the milestone in Match 21 of IPL 2025 between RCB and Mumbai Indians (MI). Opening for RCB, he scored a commanding half-century at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, ending his innings with 67 runs off 42 balls.

Virat Kohli has etched his name in history by becoming the fifth cricketer to score over 13,000 runs in T20 cricket. He joins an elite group that includes Chris Gayle (14,562 runs), Alex Hales (13,610), Shoaib Malik (13,557), and Kieron Pollard (13,537). Notably, Kohli is the first Indian to achieve this milestone in the shortest format.

Meanwhile, in the ongoing IPL 2025, Kohli continues to lead from the front for RCB. In match 21 against Mumbai Indians, the Rajat Patidar-led side was cruising at 123/2 after 13 overs, with MI bowlers struggling to contain the onslaught.

Kohli is currently the top run-scorer for RCB this season, boasting an average of over 78 across five matches. He kicked off the campaign with a match-winning 59* against Kolkata Knight Riders. Though he stumbled in the next two games with scores of 31 (vs CSK) and 7 (vs GT), he has already registered two half-centuries and remains a key figure in RCB’s batting lineup.
