Mumbai Indians (MI) hosted Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, April 17, for the 33rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Led by Hardik Pandya, MI secured a five-wicket victory over the visitors. Solid contributions from Suryakumar Yadav (26), Ryan Rickelton (31), Hardik Pandya (21), and Will Jacks (36) helped MI successfully chase down the target of 163 runs.
MI skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and opted to bowl first. SRH’s batting didn’t fire as expected, and they could only manage 162/5 in their allotted 20 overs. The opening partnership between Abhishek Sharma (40) and Travis Head (28) provided a solid start, with the duo adding 59 runs.
However, the middle order failed to accelerate, and Heinrich Klaasen’s late surge of 37 runs was all SRH could muster. MI’s bowlers displayed excellent discipline, with Will Jacks taking two wickets, while Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya each claimed one scalp.
